Call for Abstracts

The organisers of the 2026 IMB & SFB 1361 Conference invite submission of abstracts on the theme of “The evil within: Regulation and repair of endogenous DNA damage”.

The scientific organisers of the conference will use the submitted abstracts as the basis of their decisions to invite participants to present posters and short talks. The abstracts of all selected posters and talks will be included in a digital conference abstract book, which will be made available only to conference participants.

Abstract submission is handled through Converia and in order to submit an abstract, you will have to register for a Converia account first (see Registration). Please note, that once you are registered as an attendee for the conference and have paid the registration fee, you are guaranteed participation in the conference irrespective of whether your abstract is selected for a presentation.

 

Formatting & Guidelines

Abstract

Abstracts should be submitted using the abstract template (Word document) and guidelines below. All presentations should be in English (UK English).

Title:

  • Max 100 characters including spaces (approx. 15 words)

Author(s) and affiliation(s):

  • Max 150 characters including spaces
  • The presenting author should be underlined
  • Please provide full names and affiliations of all authors, e.g.
    Joe Bloggs1,*, Andy Smith1,*and William König1,2

    2University of Cambridge, UK
    *indicates equal contribution

Abstract text:

  • Max 2,000 characters including spaces (approx. 300 words)
  • This should be a concise summary of the work you intend to present at the symposium
  • Abstracts should not include any citations, references, figures or tables

 

Formats

Short Talk

Format: 10 minutes talk + 5 minutes discussion

Technical details and instructions will be communicated directly to all selected short talk presenters.

Poster

Format: Recommended poster size of A0
Poster boards measurements: 
 150 cm high x 120 cm wide

Please note that there will be two poster sessions during the conference:

Session 1: Tuesday, 10 March 2026
Session 2: Wednesday, 11 March 2026

Poster presenters will be given an alloted presentation time during one of the poster sessions. This way you and the other conference delegates know when to be at your poster for questions and discussion.
