Oliver Krämer: Relevance of the phosphatase subunit PR130 and its acetylation for checkpoint kinase signalling (Project 11, 2019-2022)
Our previous work has identified the protein phosphatase subunit PR130 as a novel regulator of ATM-dependent checkpoint signalling and cell cycle progression during DNA replication stress. This project now aims at elucidating how PR130 and its site-specific acetylation control cell cycle progression and DNA integrity in mammalian cells, and how the histone deacetylases, HDAC1 and HDAC2, impinge on this process. We will use a combination of hypothesis-driven and unbiased approaches to link acetylation-dependent signalling to phosphatase-dependent control of checkpoint kinase activities.
