Course Description:

There are many AI assistants currently available to use for writing, brainstorming, exploratory data analysis and so on. Have you wanted to try using such tools to increase your productivity? This workshop will look at several AI assistants (e.g. Perplexity, You.com, Storm, ChatGPT, Claude, Anthropic, etc) and how to use them for writing, brainstorming, exploratory data analysis, introspection, and more.

Effective use of AI for information retrieval (Perplexity, Bing Chat) and production (ChatGPT).

Prompting with frameworks and questioning.

Brainstorming Project Ideas, Message, StorylineBrainstorming for strategies, concept and experimental setups, getting it across with interesting message, coherent storyline, intuitive analogies.
Scientific Texting and CommunicationProduction of outline and texting with AI for different audiences
Data Analysis and Visualization

Focus on analyzing data and optimizing scientific visuals, including data figures and graphical abstracts.

Discuss good scientific practices in AI usage, regulatory and technical limitations.

Project Management using AIMajor aim, workpackage content, timeline, project management, SMART, SWOT, Gantt, budgeting
External perspective on interpersonal interactionUse of AI for meta-level interpersonal interaction and introspection in the scientific context, e.g. identify future collaborations, make decisions, train difficult interpersonal interactions, support career moves and interviewing, optimize and brainstorm for negotiations.
Perspective: what will happen in the near future?Expert opinions on short-term and mid-term impacts of AI.

Course Preparation & Material:

Participants will need to bring along their own laptops for the two days in order to join the hands-on session. Additionally, participants may have time to work on files of their own (text, data, figures) during the workshop and receive feedback.
